Open Source: kostenlose Software

  1. Open source is free like free in speech, not like a free beer…

I find your vision of open source software very reductive…
People who develop open source software also need to be paid or they will be no more able to develop the software

An open source developer very angry with people thinking like you

  2. Dear anonymous (!), angry open source programmer

People who develop open source software also need to be paid or they will be no more able to develop the software

Yes! I totally agree with that. (That is – by the way – the reason why I use the „donate“ buttons, when a software gives me a real benefit.)

But don’t be silly: You can’t be surprised if you offer your software for free and somebody takes it for free.

Thus: don’t be angry but reconsider your offer if it doesn’t meet your expectations!
